How do you define victory in Afghanistan?
Some people believe that we should stay in Afghanistan but I am curious as to the exit plan. My assumption is that when we have attained victory. So how is victory defined? If you would prefer that we leave now, fine but please save those comments for another question. Thank you. Normally I do not give a thumbs down but I made exceptions in this case for those straying from the question. I think it requires some thought versus a "kill everyone" attitude.

- Every last Taliban and Al Queda member dead.
- Victory would be either completely destroying the Taliban or weakening them to such an extent that they are never again a threat to us or the people of Afghanistan.
- Poison the water supply and leave.
- there is no victory in afganistan victory is when people assimulated into the superior culture but that would never happen. we should leave now becuz its a losing war
- To me: victory is when we pull out The taliban is not alqueda, and the taliban never attacked us, I dont care if they rule that wasteland
- Exit plan? War isn't that simple. You don't just exit. We still have troops in Germany, japan, korea etc. As for your question... I would assume once the threat of alqaeda and the taliban has been eliminated.
- I would say victory is when we find those who plan on attacking us, who have attack us, and make it safe for us... the U.S. We went into Afganistan, bc Osama Bin Lauden ran out there. I believe he is dead, but his followers are still there. When we get them, we will be victours. I support the Afganistan War. I do not support the Iraq War, bc we went in there in thought that Hussien had weapons of mass descruction.
- Bringing all the troops home. If you think we can win any war there, go now and enlist.
- When Afghans have a stable democracy without corruption and with equal rights for all. Don't hold your breath, we're still waiting for one here!
- The troops that are over there define Victory in Afghanistan as coming home alive and in one piece.
- The problem you are finding in Afghanistan is that you are trying to impose Western democracy on a culture of tribal loyalties that has sustained itself for centuries. When the USA finished using the Mujaheddin to help bring down the USSR, they thought they had achieved their goal. Maybe they had but unfortunately for the rest of the world, they had in doing so empowered and armed a group of primitive fundamentalists that were ready to follow the terrorists. When you're down, you'll believe anyone who promises to bring you up again. Victory for the whole world will be when instead of fighting and alienating the Afghanis, you bring them the schools and hospitals and roads the Russians used to try to civilise them.
- Nuke the terrorist and then come home! No different than 9-11 and what they did to America!
