How to win a Tech victory on Civilization Revolution as americans?

How do I win a technological victory as the americans on Civ Rev for the xbox 360? Every time I get to space flight it tells me the game will end in five turns. Which isn't enough time to reach the planet. Please help this is the only type of victory I have left to win as the Americans and really need to finish this. This is only on Chieftain.

1. This shouldn't be too hard on that difficulty. Build plenty of cities and switch them over to produce tons of science later on to help up your research speed so it takes less turns to research new technologies. Feel free to trade technologies with the resident AI, just make sure to keep them in line when they start to get overbearing attitude-wise towards the end of the game. I found that the victories often coincide when you dominate the map and you can go any which way you choose, be it economy, domination, technological or cultural. Take an early and commanding lead and keep it that way. Capturing enemy cities will give you more science production and help keep them in line. You can capture all but one city and then play at your leisure from that point. Add more engines to your craft and some extra fuel to help it reach the planet faster. There may be a scenario to better accomplish this, but I haven't played in a while and don't remember them. It shouldn't be too complicated though, you can do it.
